Cannon Mountain: Real Value Deals

New this year is the Zoomer Club Card, which offers frequent skiers/riders real savings. For just $10, visitors to Cannon Mountain can purchase the card, which entitles them to a free lift ticket after the purchase of 10 tickets. Also included in the Zoomer package are discounts at the ski shop, rentals, and other special deals. Cannon Mountain also offers a discount to members of the U.S. Military and Reserves.

A current, valid military ID allows participants to ski/ride at the reduced teen rate. This rate also applies to college students, who qualify for the discount when they show a current college ID. New Hampshire residents can purchase a lift ticket for just $15 every Wednesday (except December 29 and February 23). A valid New Hampshire driver's license will be needed for the discount. "Our goal is to add to the fun at Cannon Mountain by offering affordable skiing and riding," says Amy Bassett, the mountain's Marketing Director.

"It's just one more way to show that we're committed to value." Cannon Mountain, in rugged Franconia Notch State Park, NH, offers year-round value and fun for the whole family. With nine lifts and 55 winter trails (some offering the most challenging terrain in New Hampshire), as well as the newly developed gentle Brookside area with nine trails for beginning and intermediate skiers/riders, Cannon Mountain is always worth a visit. Known for the pristine beauty of its setting, Cannon Mountain is operated by the Division of Parks and Recreation of New Hampshire's Department of Resources and Economic Development. The first in a series of party planning articles by Brawin of Events by Brawin. The easy guide to becoming a party planning diva: "Visualize Your Way to Better Party Planning!"Italian in origin, translated literally - diva means goddess. This article will put you on the fast track to becoming a party planning diva. Your cocktail party should resemble a piece of art ? whether it's a sonnet by Shakespeare or a classic ballad by Maxwell, it should be a work of art.
Like most works of art, it should evoke a variety of responses in a variety of guests.

All favorable, of course.Your canvas begins with your home.
Treat it like your palette and let the creative process begin.
Take the time to have your home thoroughly cleaned at least 2 days before and no more than 5 days before the party.
Clean too soon and someone messy (i.e. husband, kids) is sure to wreck havoc.

Clean too late and you may not be able to find the time to schedule...

Making Cultural Differences Work in Your Business

Advancements in technology have made the world so much smaller, don't you think? We used to be separated by mountains and oceans, color and culture. But now on the highways and byways of the internet, we're but a
single mouse click away. Think about this for a moment. You and I may be thousands of miles away at opposite ends of the globe, but on the net, we may as well be sitting across a coffee table. The internet's really one huge melting pot of people, ideas, culture. Just take a look at any forum or message board and you'll see what I mean. So if you're going to be doing business on the internet, you should
consider that your business will be open to the world, and you're going to be serving customers from the West Coast to the Far East, and everywhere in between.I know many of us have this idea about starting small, and so we start out thinking we'll only be dealing with local or domestic customers, the people in our neighborhoods, our city, our country.

So...

Start with a family meeting. Family meetings are perfect for organizing things from chore schedules to parties.

It's also the perfect time for everyone to keep in touch with each other. Schedule one or two per holiday season. Donner Party Cookbook: A Guide to Survival on the Hastings Cutoff

(ContentDesk) January 8 2004--You probably know something about The Donner Party, the wagon train that became snowbound in the mountains on the way to California? You know.... when the food ran out, they resorted to eating their dearly departed? The tale of the 1846-1847 Donner Party is one of those fascinating episodes of American history where there is a wealth of awareness but not much knowledge. And our awareness is likely to be exclusively about the cannibalism.Terry Del Bene, Ph.D. an archeologists and historian, tells us much more in his history of the ill-fated train and its people. In his book we learn that the wagon train was made up of a group of ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances, mostly of their own making. From its inception in what is now Wyoming, on July 20, 1846, the leaders of the Donner Party made fateful decisions that doomed the wagon train from successfully completing its journey to California.

An early winter in the high Serria-Nevada Mountains...

I Gave A Party and Nobody Showed Up

I GAVE A PARTY AND NOBODY SHOWED UP!Did you ever do that? Give a party and nobody showed up? Ihope not. I must admit I never have either. But, I'll tell you what I have done and it's just about asbad, maybe worse. I've placed ads and nobody answered them. Now, that really hurts - not only your ego, but your bankaccount.Maybe that's why so many people are afraid to place ads. Ihear them say - "yeah, but what if I put in ads and they donot get a response? Then what?" Well, my answer to that is -you lost money. So, why do ads not pull a decent response? How can you avoidlosing money when placing ads? The answer - there is noguarantee. But, you can almost assure a decent response toan ad by doing several things right. When I first started in business I was going gung-ho.

Ispent money left and right placing ads, thinking that's allthere was to it - just place the ad and watch the money rollin. Well, the money rolled alright, but it went the wrongway - *out*, not in.However, I did profit...
